The 2025 Canadian Alliance to End Homelessness Conference (CAEH25) turned the Palais des congrès de Montréal into a national stage for innovation, research and action. Over three days, leaders, advocates, policymakers and community voices from across Canada gathered to share strategies, build partnerships and work toward the mission of ending homelessness.

As an event photographer in Montreal, capturing this conference was a powerful experience. CAEH25 was more than a lineup of sessions—it was emotion, storytelling, lived experience and collaboration happening in real time.

Voices That Moved the Room

The conference brought together influential thinkers and changemakers whose voices set the tone for the event. Opening remarks, cultural performances and reflections rooted in Indigenous tradition created a meaningful start.

Keynote speakers—including celebrated artist Steven Page, human rights advocate Loretta Ross, and powerful closing reflections from Jesse Thistle—brought depth, urgency and hope to the conversation. A keynote panel featuring Shina Novalinga, Annie Archambault, and Emilie Nicolas emphasized equity, reconciliation, representation and community leadership.

Leadership and Commitment

The energy of CAEH25 was driven by the work and vision of the Canadian Alliance to End Homelessness, led by President and CEO Tim Richter, whose presence and leadership grounded the event’s mission. Local leadership was also reflected at the municipal level, including participation from Valérie Plante, reinforcing Montréal’s role in advancing housing solutions.

Important conversations also looked toward infrastructure and investment, with federal participation such as the morning plenary featuring the Honourable Gregor Robertson, Minister of Housing and Infrastructure.
